At Summers Abroad we are committed to creating a positive, friendly atmosphere on our summer schools. We believe that teachers should be given the opportunity to mix with students and group leaders outside the classroom too. Therefore, members of the teaching staff are required to make a positive contribution to the programme both inside and outside of the classroom.

The summer school programme is prepared well in advance of the starting date, so staff are required to ensure that it runs as smoothly as possible. Activity leaders are required to have excellent interpersonal and organisational skills. We aim to recruit staff members who are both well-qualified and have the necessary personal qualities to blend well as a team and make a positive contribution to the success of our summer school. A blend of youth, gender and experience is often a good combination, based on previous summer school experience.

All members of the summer school staff have a temporary contract. Full board and accommodation are also provided and most, if not all, members of staff are residential. Having residential staff is a company policy as it is felt that it helps to create a family atmosphere.

Summers Abroad is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

Summers Abroad is an Equal Opportunities employer and we adhere to the principles of equal opportunity in all aspects of our recruitment process.
